Betso SBOX 1N Timecode & Word Clock Generator
The SBOX-1N can receive, precisely jam or start to generate new time codes of all existing SMPTE time code formats. Also, all commonly used word clock formats are supported, including their pull-up and pull-down options.
To use, simply connect the cable to the active time code and leave the rest to SBOX-1N! The automatic turn on and jamming function provides the most user-friendly and reliable time code syncing as the SBOX-1N will automatically distinguish correct time code format, calibrate internal TCXO to obtain the same time base as your source, and start generating jammed time code. You will find the time code synched to the source within less than 0.5 frame drifts even after two days of continuous use.
Embedded high precision temperature compansated crystal oscillator TCXO with frequency accuracy off 0.2 ppm is the fundamental piece of hardware for stable and accurate time code and word clock generator.
The superior quality of TCXO is best suited for changing environmental conditions where temperatures vary a lot during the day. Even in extreme weather conditions, the SBOX-1N will keep time codes in sync.
Thanks to our sophisticated software methods, the ultra-highly accurate TCXO can be further calibrated to achieve much better than 0.2 ppm accuracy. These methods can be applied both during jamming, when TCXO is calibrated to obtain exactly the same time base as the source of time code, or during calibration, from BETSO GPS-1 devices which offer calibrating based on GPS atomic clocks. This accuracy is almost impossible to beat. And, as you know, accuracy is what TC syncing is all about!
With its weight and dimensions, the SBOX-1N is one of the smallest and most lightweight TC & WC generators on the market. It can be easily mounted on most camcorders or photo cameras available. Mounting on your rig is even easier when using our protective Nylon Pouch or Hot Shoe Holder.
The SBOX-1N is powered by two AA batteries, which are able to power the device for up to 60 hours of continuous time code generation. This outstanding performance is achieved by a lowering of the display brightness and by switching the display to complete Standby Mode when activity is indicated by two LED diodes.
