A10 Series

A10-RX Firmware v5.10

Released: June 08, 2022

To ensure best performance, always run the latest version of A20-Mini or A10-TX firmware with the latest version of A10-RX firmware.

New:

  • New Q-meter display options menu. Navigate to Menu > Settings > Display > Q-Meter. Options are Large (default) or Small. Large displays a larger Q-meter and smaller audio meter, as displayed in v5.00 and above. Small displays a smaller Q-meters and a larger audio meter.

Change:

  • Improved time and consistency of locking to transmitters.
  • New Frequency menu icon

A10-RX Firmware v5.01

Released: April 19, 2022

To ensure best performance, always run the latest version of A20-Mini or A10-TX firmware with the latest version of A10-RX firmware.

Fixed:

  • Fixed noise floor issue with Long Range Modulation on A10-TTX. A20-Mini was not affected. Important: Both the A10-TX and A10-RX need to be running firmware v5.01.
  • Corrected communication issues with the Aaton Hydra introduced in v5.00

A10-RX Firmware v5.00

Released: April 06, 2022

To ensure best performance, always run the latest version of A20-Mini or A10-TX firmware with the latest version of A10-RX firmware.

New:

  • New long-range modulation. The state-of-the-art, 100% digital long-range modulation offers the same great audio quality (10 Hz – 20 kHz) as our Standard modulation scheme with a longer range for both line-of-sight and heavy multipath transmission. Both the A10-TX or A20-Mini and the A10-RX Modulation menus must be set to “Long Range” in order to receive RF signals.
  • New Q-meter displays the difference between the signal from the transmitter and any interference. Use the Q-meter to confidently choose frequencies which will give the best performance and range.
  • SuperSlot support for setting Modulation and displaying Q-meter.
  • New Menu>Settings>Display>Options menu to select what is displayed on the fourth line of the main screen. Options are Frequency or TV Ch.

Change:

  • Improved RF Overload measurements.
  • Improved performance of Green/Red RF Status LEDs. Green and Red LEDs now flash when RF is overloading.
  • Privacy (Key) icon now appears only when there is a mismatch between the A10-TX and A10-RX Privacy key.
  • Some display items and menus have been relocated to accommodate new features. The Settings menu has been reordered to Exit, Modulation, User Groups, TV Channel Map, Display, and LEDs. The Display submenu now contains the following menus: Brightness, Screensaver, Orientation, and Options.

Fixed:

  • LEDs no longer display in the incorrect orientation after powering the A10-RX off from the menu.
  • Improved the audio quality of the Input Low Cut Filter.

A20-Mini Firmware v5.00

New:

  • New long-range modulation.   • Support for A20-Remote’s new Group Control menu. Allows setting changes to apply to a group of transmitters. Group Control menu items include RF Power, Mode, Modulation, Mute Mic, Format Media, and LEDs.
  • New Allow Extra High - 40 mW RF Power setting in the A20-Remote Options menu. This setting must be on in order to have the Extra High - 40 mW setting in the RF Power Menu. The option is off by default. If an A20-Mini's RF Power is set to 40 mW prior to updating to v5.00, the setting will be changed to 20 mW.

8 Series

8-Series Firmware v8.90

Released: April 12, 2022

To ensure best performance, always run the latest version of 8-Series firmware with the latest version of SD-Remote.

New:

  • New Q-meter in the A10-RX SuperSlot screens.
  • New Modulation menu in the A10-RX SuperSlot screen.
  • New RF History Levels menu in the A10-RX SuperSlot Rx screen. Allows RF History to be displayed according to RSSI or Quality levels. RF History is displayed in green when set to RSSI and purple when set to Quality.
  • Firmware version number is now displayed in the splash screen while the 8-Series is powering on.
  • Support for Wisycom MCR54 v1.22 changes to Scan Group. After performing an RF Group Scan, the Select Group Frequency menu now presents an option to auto-assign the top four frequencies to the MCR54 receiver channels (four channels with SL-2, two channels with SL-6).
  • Use Wireless Names feature now supports the Wisycom MCR54 and MCR42 receiver channel names. This allows the receiver’s channel name to be automatically applied to the associated 8-Series track name.

Changed:

  • False Takes are now allowed after metadata edits.
  • SuperSlot Receiver screens now display Quality or Link Margin meters in purple.
  • Increased protection against MacOS, iPadOS and iOS processes that can result in file corruption when 8-Series is connected as a mass storage device.
  • The File List information screen now displays “Invalid” in the extremely rare event a file cannot be read properly.

Fixed:

  • Improved file and folder copying.
  • Improved file and folder error handling.
  • 29.97 DF time stamps are now handled correctly.
  • SL-2 and SL-6 no longer intermittently configure SuperSlot receivers for analog output when all inserted receivers are capable of outputting digital audio.
  • CL-16 now displays bus names in the fat channel after making routing changes.
  • All user-assigned toggle switch actions now perform as expected on Scorpio.
  • Various Wisycom MCR54 SuperSlot Rx screen issues have been fixed, including:
  • All valid groups with assigned frequencies are now properly loaded.
  • “Scanning Group Frequencies” popup message now consistently auto clears.
  • RF Group Scan no longer intermittently reverts to previously set frequency.
  • Improperly wired cables connected to the 8-Series timecode input no longer cause sluggish or unresponsive behavior.

MixPre Series

MixPre Firmware V8.00

Released: May 10, 2022

New

Support for the Reporter Plugin - an optional paid plugin for MixPre-3, MixPre-3 II, MixPre-6, and MixPre-6 II. Simplify the settings of your MixPre so your contributors can focus on capturing great content. The Reporter plugin allows you to configure your MixPre in advance and then lock the menus. Send it off with a journalist, interviewee, or another contributor in confidence!

Changed

  • File transfer mode and USB audio with both class compliant and ASIO drivers are now approved for use with Windows 11.
  • Elapsed record time now includes the pre-roll time.
  • Take number is reset to 001 when a new project is created.
  • Firmware updating is now prohibited when power is low.

Fixed

  • Legacy MixPre-3, MixPre-6, and MixPre-10T now always format SD cards that are 32 GB or less. This was not an issue with the MixPre II Series.
  • Limiters no longer remain disabled when changing from Advanced to Basic mode.
