Equipped with a highly directional supercardioid pickup pattern, obtained using a supercardioid design with an interference tube that provides excellent off-axis rejection, the DPA 4017B is a short and exceptionally lightweight shotgun microphone that truly measures up to DPA’s impressive reputation for accuracy, clarity, and musicality.
Designed for a broad range of applications, the phantom powered 4017B is ideal for use with camera systems, in fixed positions at sports facilities, for broadcast/ENG/film booming, and even studio recording environments.

Tune Out The Surroundings
Extensive research and development has been undertaken to optimize the sound coming from the sides and behind the microphone. Minimizing the often very un-linear response of a shotgun microphone due to its side lobes is one of the key accomplishments of the 4017B. The condenser capsule uses a high voltage pre-polarized back plate, endowing the shotgun with high output as well as wide dynamics, extremely low noise and distortion specifications.
Small Size, Big Performance
At just 210 mm (8.3 in) in length and 68 g (2.4 oz) in weight, the aluminum-bodied DPA 4017B is among the smallest and lightest boom microphones available. But that’s not to say that it’s small on performance. Fully immune to RF emission, the 4017B’s 19 mm (0.75 in) condenser cartridge is capable of handling peak SPLs of 152 dB before clipping.
Screwdriver-Free Filter Access
The 4017B features two onboard filters that are activated via an ingenious switching ring design. With the simple twist of two sturdy rings, engineers can implement a high-frequency boost that adds a 4 dB shelf at 8 kHz and a first-order bass roll-off below 120 Hz to minimize handling and wind noise. A permanent third-order high-pass filter at 50 Hz effectively removes unwanted low frequency disturbance from handling and wind noise.

The Spacer Bubble, Black is a multi-piece adaptable windshield solution for shotgun microphones designed specifically for boom operators, camera folks, sound mixers and all sound recordists who experience changing conditions. The Spacer Bubble includes the Spacer Base, Long-Haired Fur Cover and a carry pouch. A Short-Haired fur cover is available separately if you need it here.

The Spacer Bubble shotgun microphone windshield is constructed of a noise-free mesh base, with a coarse foam inside and our specially designed rubber mount at the bottom.
The combination of the foam and the mesh provides the perfect conditions for recording indoors. And if you suddenly have to act fast and go outside, simply slip-on the long-haired fur and experience the optimal transparency within seconds.
When your recordings are wrapped, you can always keep track of your Spacer Bubble by leaving on the base on your boom or camera mic and store the slip-on fur in the included practical mesh storage bag. That way you’ll always be ready!
The materials used in The Spacer Bubble have been carefully selected and tested to ensure you are able to stay protected from the wind, whilst retaining as much of your microphones original frequency response as possible. Rycote InVision 7HG MKIII Microphone Shock Mount
The Rycote InVision INV-HG MKIII Microphone Suspension addresses the demand for a heavy-duty shockmount to secure shotgun microphones. The INV-HG mkIII will minimalize handling noise, rumble, and vibration in all speech-capturing applications.
The InVision Lyre cradle accommodates most microphones measuring 19 to 25mm in diameter, like the Sennheiser MKH416 or MKH60. The cradle stabilizes even heavy microphones and allows the use of windscreens without sagging. A heavy duty swivel with a star knob fastens your mic tightly in place. The Lyre cradle rests on a miniature bar with a 3/8" threaded base and includes a 5/8" adapter.
The INV-HG MKIII base features an integrated cable clamp for securing excess cable and minimizing noise. The unique Lyre suspension and cable clamp are engineered with Hytrel for a virtually indestructible design that maximizes shock and noise absorbtion.
Large Lyre Suspension For Boom Operation
The Patented Rycote Lyre suspension cradle measures 70mm high and 40mm wide to accommodate heavier microphones. This is ideal for static stand mounting as well as boom placement.
19 To 25mm Mounting Cradle
The cradle included with this system accommodates microphone diameters measuring between 19 to 25mm. The interior is treated with a soft-grip surface for a perfect, non-slip fitting.

Integrated 3/8" Threaded Base With 5/8" Stand Adapter
